Basic Simulations - Structural Analysis of Cellular Materials

Join the Computational Materials Society in taking the first step to using basic python programming to create a framework for running structural simulations. Although there are plenty of sophisticated simulation softwares available such as ANSYS by Granta, Solidworks and Autodesk Finite Element Analysis (FEA), it is an extremely powerful tool to write our own python based simulations as we can automate them and pair them to iterative improvement methods such as machine learning networks.

This is done based on the research conducted by Irenaeus Wong and Jeremy Wilson from Fall 2019 - Winter 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Hatem Zurob, Dr. Michael Greenwood, and Dr. Bosco Yu.
