Faculty Q&A

  • We hire several materials engineering student interns for 16 month terms. Job postings are usually available on OscarPlus.

The co-op students assist Metallurgists with the development of new materials and processes in support of business development initiatives at multiple facilities.

Our co-op job profile includes active participation in the development of processes, components and equipment selection, assessment of the physical structure and properties of various materials used in the different products.

  • The Integrated Cornerstone Design Projects in Engineering (1P13) is an one-of-a-kind learning experience that will set you apart as a future engineer. You'll be the second cohort of Engineering 1 students experiencing our new first-year, experiential learning-focused design course, called Integrated Cornerstone Design Projects in Engineering. Projects transition from well-structured to open-ended as the course progresses, with technical skills and subject expertise steadily building in engineering design and graphics, programming, professional engineering practice, and structure and properties of materials.

With a team of Faculty mentors, instructional assistants, lab technicians and teaching assistants on hand to lend support, students will develop projects to be featured in a personal online portfolio that can be incorporated into co-op job applications.

  • There are over 70 engineering clubs, teams, committees, conferences, and competitions you can join to enhance your technical and non-technical skills. Getting involved in experiential learning opportunities is a valuable way to enrich your student life, explore new activities, and contribute to your social development and academic success.
