About the Society

The Metallurgy and Materials Society (MetSoc) is one of the eleven Technical Societies included in The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM).  CIM is the leading not-for-profit technical society of professionals in the Canadian minerals, metals, materials, and energy industries.  Members, convened from industry, academia and government, help shape, lead and connect Canada’s minerals industry, both within our borders and across the globe.  MetSoc along with its diverse community of materials and metallurgy professionals advance and promote the profession through professional development, student programming, conferences, quality publications, and more.
